The 2026 conference will be hosted by EPFL at it’s Neuchatel Location
The EuroEAP Conference is sponsored by the EuroEAP Society.
The EuroEAP international conference is organized by the EuroEAP Society, a not-for-profit organization. The conference is held annually in a different European city, and is open to researchers from around the world. We aim at sharing and disseminating the latest advances in soft transducers. The conference gathers experts from all over the globe, driven by scientific quality and industrial impact. The schedule emphasizes invited talks and poster sessions. Having less than 150 participants enables a friendly atmosphere and stimulating scientific discussion.
At its inception in 2011, the conference focused on Electromechanically Active Polymers. Today, the scope is the broader, aiming at the international and diverse research community of soft smart materials, soft transducers, and soft robotics.
The conference topics cover any aspects of the chain from chemistry of materials to integrated devices and products, including:
- Development of actuation, sensing and energy harvesting devices based on soft materials, including electrostatic transducers (DEA, HASEL, electrohydraulic), electrohyrodynamic, polymer gels, ionic polymer metal composites, conducting polymers, liquid crystal elastomers, phase-change materials, and shape memory materials
- Novel stimuli-responsive materials
- Design, manufacturing, characterisation and testing of new devices for various fields of application, including soft robotics, haptics, mechatronics, optics, acoustics, energy harvesting, biomedical systems, smart textiles and wearables
- Modeling, simulation and control of devices and systems
- Development and validation of applications.
